What is part-exchange?
Part-exchange, it’s a wonderful thing, if you know all the ins and outs!
It’s a great way of getting rid of your current car and claiming a new one in one swift transaction, without waiting around or getting the bus to work for the week between selling yours and buying a new one. But what exactly does it involve? Read on to find out!
Part-exchange is where you use the value of your current car towards the cost of your next. It means you get to complete the process in one hit, rather than selling your car, waiting for the money and then starting to look for your next motor.
First, you get a valuation on your car based on a few different factors. These include; age, make and model, mileage and condition of the vehicle. Once the price is right for the dealership and the customer, you can then choose your next vehicle and we will use the price of your current car as a deposit on your next car. Sounds good, right?
It’s straightforward process but here are some of the questions we get asked about part-ex…
My current car is on finance, can I still part-ex?
Yes, as long as you’re in positive equity, but speak to us about neg-eq and we will see what we can do – there’s loads of options with part-exchange.
I don’t know what my car is worth, can you help?
Can we help? Of course we can. We take the pain out of selling your car, so all the legwork is done by us, because we are nice like that.
Would I be better selling my car?
It depends on your circumstances and what you want to do! Give us a call or pop in for a chat and a cuppa – we can decide what the best plan of attack is.
